ESPN College GameDay to originate from Junction

The first matchup of two top-five teams in Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field history takes college football’s center stage Saturday as No. 3 Mississippi State and No. 2 Auburn meet at 2:30 p.m. live in a nationally televised game on CBS.

The Southeastern Conference announced its Oct. 11 television slate Sunday. It will be the first CBS home broadcast for the Bulldogs since Nov. 5, 2005 when MSU hosted No. 4 Alabama.

In addition, ESPN College GameDay will originate on the MSU campus for the first time in the program’s history. The show, which airs from 8-11 a.m. live on ESPN, will take place from the Junction. All fans are encouraged to arrive early and wear maroon.

Following a 48-31 win over No. 6 Texas A&M Saturday, the Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0 SEC) jumped into a tie for third in the Associated Press poll and are alone in sixth in the USA Today Coaches Top 25. MSU also received two first-place votes in the AP poll. It’s the highest ranking for MSU in program history, besting the No. 7 AP poll mark from Oct. 31, 1981.

The Bulldogs returned to practice Sunday evening and players will be off Monday before resuming game week preparations Tuesday. Coach Dan Mullen’s weekly press conference will be live at 1 p.m. CT Monday on SEC Network+ via WatchESPN.com and the Watch ESPN app.
