LEAP program now accepting applications
The 2016 Leadership Excellence for Accomplished Professionals (LEAP) program at Mississippi State is now accepting applications. The goal and purpose of LEAP is to empower new supervisors and extremely high performing professional staff with a heightened self-awareness, advanced knowledge, and value-added leadership in a secure, but challenging environment.

I Bleed Maroon blood drive underway
The 2nd-annual United Blood Services I Bleed Maroon blood drive kicked off Sunday at Mississippi State and continues through Friday. Two hundred and twenty units were collected during last year's event, and organizers hope to collect 300 pints of blood this week. Donors will receive a free t-shirt and points toward special gifts. They also will be entered into a daily prize package drawing.

Clothing and food drive at Mitchell Memorial Library
The Maroon Volunteer Center at Mississippi State details a number of volunteer opportunities for the campus community on its website and in its newsletter this week, including information about MSU Libraries' clothing and food drive in honor of National Library Week, Autism Awareness Month, the Cotton District Arts Festival, Oktibbeha County Head Start, and a clothing drive to benefit MSU students who are also parents.

Softball plays Louisiana Tech on the road in Ruston at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and then hosts LSU for a weekend series with games on Friday at 5:30 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ... Baseball hosts Memphis on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and Texas A&M for Super Bulldog Weekend with games on Friday at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ... Track & Field competes at the South Alabama Invite Thursday through Saturday... Women's Tennis plays Missouri in Columbia at 5 p.m. on Thursday and then visits Fayetteville on Saturday for a 3 p.m. match against Arkansas... MSU Outstanding Women Awards announced
Mississippi State is honoring seven individuals with the university’s latest Outstanding Women awards. During a campus ceremony last week, the MSU President’s Commission on the Status of Women recognized Sharon Avant, Anne Buffington, Courtney Headley, Sarah Lee and Vineetha Menon.
Arts & Sciences recognizes outstanding faculty
Each year the College of Arts and Sciences at Mississippi State recognizes outstanding faculty for their efforts and success as teachers and researchers. Those awards were announced recently.
Super Bulldog Weekend gets started Friday
The 31st annual Super Bulldog Weekend, a Mississippi State spring homecoming tradition featuring three days of athletic events, will get started Friday on the MSU campus. The event is once again being presented by Regions Bank. For a full schedule of events and more details, visit HailState.com/SBW.
