Mississippi State is hosting a variety of Unity Month programs throughout April, exploring the dynamics of diversity and inclusion while celebrating the many cultures and heritages represented at the university.

The Holmes Cultural Diversity Center hosted an Interfaith Dialogue and Dinner, a chance to learn the similarities and differences between various faiths over dinner last Monday [April 3].

MSU’s Music Maker Productions and Center for Student Activities will celebrate Unity Month with their annual Old Main Music Festival, consisting of live music, food trucks and an art market, April 20 at the MSU Amphitheater. MMP will announce Old Main’s music acts soon via Facebook and other social media platforms.

The Men of Excellence student organization will host the State of Black Men Symposium April 21 at Colvard Student Union. The program will include workshops, networking sessions and a keynote speaker, all focused on understanding the challenges that impact Black male success and promoting Black male wellness.

Join the Black Voices Gospel Choir, 4 p.m. April 22, at the MSU Amphitheater to celebrate the influence of gospel music with the group and other local collegiate choirs at the Black Voices Gospel Fest.

To conclude the month, MSU’s College of Forest Resources, Department of Health Promotion and Wellness, and Division of Access, Diversity and Inclusion will host the Unity Month Mixer, a gathering with food and activities, 4 p.m. April 24, on the YMCA Building’s plaza.

Other Unity Month programs include the Interfaith Fair, De-Stress and Green Event, Arcade Night and Earth Day Service.

Hosted by the ADI division and the World Neighbors Association, MSU kicked off Unity Month events with April 1’s International Fiesta, a day of cultural exchange and entertainment through food and displays.
