Leadership class prepares staff for future roles

A Mississippi State professional development program recently graduated 13 employees preparing for possible leadership roles within the university.

MSU Human Resources Management staff and President Mark E. Keenum celebrated the graduation of the Leadership Development Program Class of 2022 at the conclusion of the nine-month training this summer.

MSU Office of Study Abroad Assistant Director Annika Campbell was recognized as this year's LDP Rising Star, an award given to the program’s top participant as chosen by the cohort.

The LDP empowers new supervisors and high-performing employees with heightened self-awareness, advanced knowledge and value-added leadership. Eligible applicants include employees preparing for mid- to senior-level leadership roles; directing major tasks, projects and initiatives; and having at least one year of service in their current position and support of their dean, director or department head.

The LDP Class of 2022 graduates include:

-- Nicole Boyett, director of business operations, MSU Athletics

-- Annika Campbell, assistant director, Office of Study Abroad

-- Yan Campbell, research associate III, Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Health Promotion

-- Marian Chancellor, manager, MSU Online

-- Kylie Crosland, program coordinator, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

-- Ashley Glenn, facilities supervisor and equestrian team coach, Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences

-- Natalie Guyton, associate director of data services, MSU Foundation

-- Kara Herman, business manager, National Strategic Planning and Analysis Center

-- Tyrel Jernigan, associate director, Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion

-- Alicia Musselwhite, assistant director for operational health and safety, Office of Environmental Health and Safety

-- Ashley Patterson, business manager, MSU Extension

-- Eddie Rangel, administrative assistant, Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library

-- Pamela Redwine, Extension agent IV, Yalobusha County MSU Extension Service
