Faculty/staff drivers needed for alternative spring break trip

Registration for Mississippi State's alternative spring break is now open for general volunteers. Participants will engage with the rich history and culture of the Mississippi Delta during blues, Civil Rights and Native-American history experiences, while also serving the various communities in the region through service.

Students will travel by van around the region and learn about sustainable agriculture, catfish farming, educational services and river culture. The trip includes canoeing on the Mississippi River and a tour of Monsanto, as well as a night at Ground Zero Blues Club and Po' Monkey jook joint. The cost of the trip is $200, which includes food, lodging and transportation.

Additionally, the Maroon Volunteer Center is looking for two faculty or staff volunteer leaders to serve as drivers, who must be 21 or older. Trip expenses will be covered by the Office of Student Leadership and Community Engagement.
